listening online
To listen on-line just hit the relevant button below that matches your Internet connection. The high bandwidth option (broadband) streams at 56K and plays using the passion player, whilst the lower bandwidth (modem) streams at 24K. To listen to the modem stream you'll need either an MP3 player capable of streaming Internet radio (such as Winamp) or Real Player. Whichever you choose, we hope you enjoy listening to passion.

troubleshooting
Broadband Stream
Once you've clicked on the Passion Player link, you should be able to see the Passion Player itself. It should pop up in one of those "pop up" boxes. However if you are not seeing the Passion Player at all ... then first of all try minimising all the windows that are open as it may be hiding behind things! Alternatively check that your Active X controls are not turned off. If they - turn them back on again.
Modem Stream
Click on the link that corresponds to the software that you have. You'll need to have either Winamp or Real Player (it doesn't work with Windows Media Player). When you click on the relevant link you need to double click twice. Also make sure that your Real or Winamp player is open so that the audio can be loaded into it and play. So to re-cap, open your Real or Winamp player first then double click on the relevant button of the Passion player.

what is DAB digital radio?
Digital Audio Broadcasting (or DAB for short) is an entirely new system for broadcasting and receiving radio services. DAB Digital Radio signals are converted into 'binary digits'- the 1's and 0's of the computer world. These are carried by radio waves in a way that is resistant to interference, so your listening is free of any snap, crackle and pop.
features
Digital Audio Broadcasting uses the airwaves far more efficiently than analogue radio.
This enables broadcasters to transmit a wider range of programmes and services than has ever previously been possible.
The number of radio services available in the UK has doubled thanks to Digital Audio Broadcasting.
The digital signal can carry text and images alongside the audio.
Text is used to enhance the listening experience.
Imagine how useful it is to have the name of the artist and track you are listening to,
as well as news headlines, scrolling across the face of your radio.
All existing national and most regional radio stations are now broadcasting digitally.
Plus there are a range of brand new digital only radio stations, like Passion for the Planet,
which means that whatever your taste, DAB Digital Radio has got it covered.
digital v analogue
We live in a world that is dominated by digital devices. Just about every communication process we engage in,
from making a phone call to sending an e-mail, is in the digital domain.
In the past couple of decades almost all home entertainment systems have moved from analogue to digital.
Products such as MiniDisc, CD and DVD are all digital.
Now radio has joined the digital revolution.
Radio is the oldest form of electronic mass communication.
It is the most widely consumed of the electronic media, both in Britain and around the world.
It has progressed from the introduction of AM radio in the 1920s to FM in the 1940s,
from stereo in the 1960s to RDS in the 1980s.
Now Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) is taking the oldest of broadcast media into the digital age.
Quite simply, DAB Digital Radio is technically superior to its analogue predecessor.
Listeners benefit from: interference free reception, no re-tuning, wider choice of services,
a full and dynamic range of sound, text and data.
Over 230 million people around the world can currently receive more than 400 different DAB Digital Radio services.
In the UK, the BBC has been transmitting DAB Digital Radio since September 1995,
and today covers more than 80% of the UK population.
Digital One, the national commercial DAB Digital Radio operator, carries brand-new digital-only radio services,
plus Classic FM, Virgin Radio and talkSPORT to around 80% of the population.
Local services are already on the air all over the UK, with more launching all the time!
do I need a new radio?
DAB Digital Radio uses a different system to traditional analogue FM and AM,
and it's transmitted on a different frequency.
That means your existing radio sets cannot receive the new DAB Digital Radio stations available across the country.
To hear the great new stations available on digital radio you'll need a new DAB Digital Radio.
These radios offer crystal clear sound, station name display and text information about the programme
you're listening to.
There's a DAB Digital Radio that's right for you.
Most manufacturers produce home hi-fi tuners, with prices starting from as little as £129.
These simply connect to an existing hi-fi system and then you can hear all the digital sounds
in the comfort of your favourite armchair!
There are also a wide range of new portable DAB Digital Radios.
And for the car, top names like Grundig, Blaupunkt, Sony, JVC and Pioneer and many more have
produced a variety of products, giving you superb interference-free reception when you're on the
move or stuck in a traffic jam.
DAB Digital Radio is cutting edge technology and yet prices start as low as £39.
And more products are on the horizon; a combined GSM mobile phone and DAB Digital Radio receiver,
a DVD player with DAB digital radio, plus MP3 players and PDAs - all with inbuilt DAB Digital Radios.
DAB Digital Radios unlock the exciting new world of digital radio, giving you access to the future of broadcasting.
Remember don't be confused by sales staff trying to sell you a radio that just has a digital display or
frequency readout. Always look for the official DAB logo.
