Funny, sweet, a treat.
That sums up the play and scene stealer Eleanor David as Blanche. She's the agent for grumpy but witty
Broadway playwright Jason Carmichael (Tom Conti). Jason's writing partner has left him for Hollywood,
so Blanche sets up a meeting with young writer Phoebe Craddock (Kate Atkinson). Phoebe dresses like she runs
through her wardrobe wearing velcro underwear, but Jason is smitten by her talent. The rest of the play shows
us their relationship over a dozen or so years.
Leads Tom Conti and Kate Atkinson are great.
And watch out for the subtle but hilarious handbag gag.
